Research and Silliness

Have you ever realized how much money our governments put into worthless research? Just today, I heard that it has been scientifically proven that the color red sticks in the brain better. Now, there are thousands of other papers about that kind of research, government-funded mind you. That is a prime example of our tax dollars at work. I know that running a country is tedious work, but shouldn't we be helping the poor or making cancer drugs instead of finding out what color sticks in the mind better or how long it takes to break a bad habit? We'd like to think that our country is well enough off to to those kinds of things, but open your eyes! It's not! Just cause we have one of the greatest standards of living on the planet doesn't mean it's all good! I know we all say "it's all good" a lot. But if you look around, there are homeless on the streets, starving people two houses over, and people barely making enough next door! It makes me sick.

By the way, one of my friends was having some trouble with his username, so I let him use mine for his blog. So if you read any comments that don't sound like my style, they're probably his. thanks and have nice day.

Warm

It is finally warm! I could wear shorts today. It's pretty cool. I'm feeling in the mood for a survey, so... how many different titles can you come up with for a janitor and what are they?

I got these pictures in an e-mail and thought you guys might like them. I'm not really a motorhead, but I thought that I should include some pictures of some sweet cars that I saw. The silver and yellow car is a Nissan Urge, and the silver and red cars aer Mazda concept cars. The silver one is a Kabura and the red one is a Senku.

End Times

I was reading Matthew, 24 I think it was, last night, and I came across something called "the abomination that causes desolation." My NIV Bible said that this is mentioned in Daniel. I went back, and it wasn't made any clearer. I'm curious as to what this is, and I figured that you guys would be a great community to ask. So, any thoughts?

Climbing Higher

I had a great time at Climbing Higher. It was awesome to see all of you guys and do stuff together again. The speaker and my cabin times were great too. I really feel as if I've made advancements in my faith. Now, I want to throw some deep stuff out there. Is ruling by fear better than ruling by love? Ruling by fear works. For example, the Prussians, Germans, took over a large part of land around Germany. Their king's philosophy was to make there soldiers fear their officers more than the enemy, that way, they wouldn't shy away from battle. Still, the Prussians had a fairly huge desertion rate. Napoleon, however, was loved by his troops, and he took control of most of Europe. God also rules by love, and their are probably thousands of people worldwide that would be willing to die for God.

The Fall

Well, the snow finally really started to melt, it's incredible. It has been so cold for so long, that I am really looking forward to spring and summer. Climbing Higher is sooo close! I can almost touch it! Life isn't great up here, st least during the weeks, and it's gonna be so great to see you guys again. I've been blogging with you for months now, but seeing is better han blogging. Hope you are all well. See you in three days!

Small Groups

I'm glad to hear that you guys are having small groups again. They were so much fun while they lasted. About the mentors, you guys really picked a good analogy with the Jedi master and padawan thing. Yes, a master could be the same age as a padawan, but the master would have to be absoulutely insane, or the padawan terrible. Actually, if Jedi aren't taken as padawans by I think 13, they get deported to some other place. They are still "Jedi", but they don't have as much connection with order as "real" jedi. In other words, they aren't really Jedi. So, it would have to be a really weird situation for a padawan and a master to end up being the same age. But back to the question. A mentor could bethe same age, but for the best mentor possible, you would be better off sticking with an older person. They have been through the part of life that you are going through and know what the counsequences of certain choices and decisions can result in. They can guide you better. Also, they know what's on the other side. So, in conclusion, a mentor should be older than the mentee, in most cases. I always like ot leave room for those freak instances, and, as Connor will atest, I rely on them more heavily than I should. I practically live by the words "Where there's a will, there's a way".

For some reason moose are very funny. They're kinda cool actually. I was just forwarded this picture, and thought you guys (and gals) might like it.

Cold

Did you know that -40 Celsius and -40 Farinheit are equalivant temperatures? No, it isn't that cold here, but it's gonna get pretty cold tomorrow, or that's what they say. I heard that most of your snow melted. That's too bad. We have almost a foot, a bit less in some places. Axis and Allies is fun.
